Overview

The Temp Facilities Custodian will be responsible for the custodial duties at 4 sites in Whatcom County. Must have reliable transportation. The expected work Schedule is 4 hours per day/ 20 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • The Temp Facilities Custodian shall provide janitorial services necessary to maintain the premises in a clean, safe and sanitary condition in accordance with agency and industry standards. The Facilities Custodian shall perform daily cleaning, including but not limited to the restrooms, removal of trash, cleaning the windows and vacuuming the carpets, etc.
  • Provide assistance as needed with general office maintenance that may include: minor furniture repair and assembly, installation of miscellaneous items (shelves, pictures, coat racks, etc.), and physical relocation of furniture and equipment. Troubleshoot issues and communicate with the Maintenance Supervisor. 
  • Provide assistance as needed to obtain those items necessary to accomplish custodial/facilities tasks and to replenish janitorial supplies. May include picking up or delivering other non-maintenance-related items.
  • Properly store, use, and dispose of janitorial supplies that may include hazardous materials in accordance with CCS Accident Prevention Program Manual.
  • Maintain up-to-date facilities cleaning check list.

Qualifications

  • 1-year experience in facilities/janitorial/custodial duties.
  • Minimal knowledge in assisting with general maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Reliable transportation, current Valid WA State Driver's license and proof of WA State required automobile insurance.
  • Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
  • Criminal History Background Checks are required prior to employment.
